OpenDeploy Product Experience

Klish Group, Inc. has worked with Interwoven's OpenDeploy product since 2001. As the versions have evolved from version 4.2 to the current 6.1, Klish Group has continued to learn how to best utilize the new features and capabilities provided in the product.

Recently, Klish Group participated in the OpenDeploy 6.1 and Control Hub 2.1 beta programs and helped identify bugs and suggest improvements prior to its general release.

Services provided to clients:

  • Version Migration - upgraded and transferred customers between OpenDeploy versions 4.5 and 5.5 and 5.5 to 6.0.2.
  • Platform Architecture Design and Analysis - during the upgrade processes, the deployment architecture was examined to determine if the correct number of sending and receiving servers existed to support failover and disaster recovery situations.
  • File, Metadata and Database Deployment Synchronization - created complex deployment processes that transferred file content, metadata and database content in a unified single transaction to ensure a consistent state. The content was transferred to a portal server, while personalization information about the content was extracted from the files and written to a database, ensuring the content would be found and selected appropriately. The database transactions were executed using the Interwoven DataDeploy product/module.
  • Platform Installation and Configuration - installed and configured OpenDeploy environments on the Solaris, Windows and Linux platforms. Many of the installations incorporated mixed environment installations, where servers from each operating system are used.
  • OpenDeploy Adapter Usage - leveraged the newly provided adapter framework to extract source code from a repository, transfer the files to a target application server and execute a rebuild of the web application.
